Cut him some slack, hate-watching a series can be interesting, but more often than not it isn't. A fresh pair of eyes would probably be better for everyone involved.

As much as I want James to have a reprieve from a show that's too boring to even hate-watch, he might be the only person left if no other reviews bite the bullet and watch all of the first season.

Or we could you know, and hear me out on this one, vote in a good show? Maybe Dragon Quest Dai if that one is still going on? Or maybe we can get him to do retro reviews of the Macross series since that's kinda of a thing now? It'll be like the early days of the Pandemic on ANN...

Honestly... Yashahime might not actually make the vote depending on what else there is that season. While I know there's still a healthy viewership, that first season really did kill a lot of the sequel's good will.
