And I was listening to the Arata Kangatari OP and ED songs earlier this week because those songs were fire. I must be willing it. No need to thank me folks. I just want a 2nd season.

Glad to see she'll be able to continue the story.

Doesn't Watase use they/them pronouns? This isn't the first time this happened, writers of ANN!
I'm excited to see its return! Arata is one of those series that gets overlooked but it's really good. I'm just hoping that Watase gets the ending they wanted.

"Following the announcement, an editor for Viz Media's Shojo Beat imprint clarified that Watase's preferred pronouns in English are "she" and "her"."

Okay, good to know! Last I heard it was the they/them pronouns, but I'm glad it's all been cleared up. My apologies for the call out!

ZetMoon80 is right, and we expected these comments, so no worries at all. Watase has come out as X-Gender, but she confirmed with Viz Media in late 2019 that she prefers she/her pronouns:

As for "this not being the first time this has happened," please always call us out if we do this, and if you have a source, please definitely give us one. We will always strive to make sure we use the correct pronouns for everyone we write about, but if our background research lacked in an instance, we always welcome (and encourage) a callout so we can fix it ASAP.

I've actually seen the opposite issue happen, where on articles about Watase people will say that she uses they/them and the article gets rewritten with they/them despite the fact that she still uses she/her (and it's not even that obscure knowledge either, it's blatantly on her wikipedia page).

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia anyone can edit? The info about her pronouns were added like three days prior to this article(EDIT: Actually in January, my mistake). Not arguing her pronouns, just saying wikipedia is blatantly not always a 100% accurate source.

The info was added back in January but I digress. I still don't think it's a good idea to assume that someone uses they/them (and editing the article as such) just because they're non binary and the info is still readily available when looking up "Yuu Watase pronouns". I mainly brought up wikipedia because it's a simple place to get info on a specific person.
