Anyone who thinks feminism and social justice don't exist in Japan needs to read Sayonara Miniskirt.

I'm not too big on Rumiko Takahashi's work, but I know fans of hers have been clamoring for Maison Ikkoku to get a re-release (and a complete one at that) here for years. Now their wish has come true and I hope it turns out well for Viz!

Mujirushi! A Maison Ikkoku reprint!! And hopefully "Collector's Edition" on the latter means hardcover, but I guess we'll see. Will be picking up both either way!

Sweeet! Finally, Maison Ikkoku! I'd still recommend people who roll their eyes at her long works to still consider giving Maison Ikkoku a shot. It's probably her only long series where characters are allowed to learn and time is allowed to pass. That said, can you people just like, talk to each other and actually listen? Seriously? I still love it though.
I'd also recommend trying out her short stories, she's so damn good at them, that it's almost a shame she's been doing average long runners for the past decade+ now.

Rumic theatre's been out of print for literal decades, I believe, given not only do I not have a copy I don't recall ever seeing one for sale retail.
(but UY and Rinne are basicslly short-skit collections, just with rrcurring cast: plays to her same strengths)

Think that I'll be in for Maison Ikkoku. On the fence with Not Your Idol. Looked it up on MAL and the synopsis there makes it sound like the series may be a bit too dark for me. Will wait for some reviews on that one.

I'm excited too! Been reading Fushigi Yuugi and Yuu Watase's work since the early 2000s. I can't wait to see the FY story come full circle!

FUSHIGI YUGI HYPE!!!
I really love Genbu Kaiden, and was wondering why Viz didn’t license all Watase’s manga as soon as it was published, but better late than never!
Also stoked about the Maison Ikkoku re-release and will agree that Rumiko Takahashi’s short stories are excellent, and Viz should re-release them next! I tracked down a few of the collections in a Massachusetts library system, so Americans might be able to read them via inter library loan, but they really do deserve to be in print!
Not Your Idol sounds good, too!
TL;DR: Thanks, Viz!
