Apparently the LNs have sold over half a million copies in Japan.
The MC here is Very Smugly Confident, he isn't afraid to show off his awesomeness and is shamelessly cocksure while doing so (unlike the usual humbly unassertive types you usually get.) Well, whaddya know -- I think this is the first Narou anime announcement since Mushoku Tensei. And that means I get to add a row to my handy-dandy spreadsheet for the first time since I started it back in March! Not much to take away from the new addition so far, except that the source material is more recent than any of the other planned or aired Narou anime, by either web or print debut, and the time-to-light-novel-release seems to have been... pretty medium, as these things go? Not crazy fast like FUNA's was, that is. (I got the LN release date from Amazon.co.jp; feel free to let me know if I got it wrong.) Naturally, if I'm missing any data, either anime announcements I overlooked or known upcoming airdates, please let me know! (Regarding this particular web novel: It's still being posted online, though not with daily updates like in its first year. 97 chapters so far this year, with 279 days since the year began.) |

To quote a Redditor's comment on the draw of this series: spoiler[The entire draw of the LN/Manga is the MC. He is very self aware, cocky, arrogant and ridiculously overpowered. To put it simply, he is not the Demon Lord, he is THE ******* DEMON LORD! Yes I know how stupid and redundant that sentence sounded but that's the tone the story takes. The entire premise is that he is so OP that the very title of Demon Lord was CREATED for him. If you wanna enjoy an absolutely no-**** given MC completely shitting and making a joke out of everything he faces while delivering sick one liners and cool chuuni poses, it's pretty damn fun.] spoiler[There's also elements of the MC training and powering up his allies, them helping out MC, and a cool bro relationship between MC and a male friend of his.] |

Diddo. I discovered this thing as the Manga, i didn't think it was too bad. However, i've not gotten too far into it. So we will see how it comes out. I just home anime "Advertising the light novel & manga" wont ruin them. |
