This anime and manga invented a lot of the troupes of shounen fighting manga that still exist today. The original anime was revolutionary for its time for what it managed to do with the budget it had, but it's a hard sell to get anyone to watch something from 1969 these days. I'm glad this remake is looking damn good, looking forward to it.

Wow, some old school stuff getting a new look. As I think of the new 8 man. I hope that they do this series justice. I do love when some old things get a new life if it can gets some good quality animation, action, great animated fight scenes but more importantly story. Stick to the source material and pace it properly.
Updated (After watching the trailer): Looks great! Yes, yes, yes!!!

Being in black and white must have saved some cash.

I'm watching this. I haven't committed to a full series since the end of fullmetal alchemist brotherhood. I will watch this.

Apparently, that was part of the reason for Dororo being the last B&W anime ever made for TV, alongside possibly to tone down the use of blood (yeah, as long as it wasn't colored red, it was considered fine to air?). In turn, though, the staff at Mushi Pro worked with the lack of color to help give the show an atmosphere that still works to this very day. I absolutely loved Dororo 69, so this new show has a lot to live up to.

Yep, this one still looks promising. It's also going for a much different style than the 69 series, which is for the best, because I don't think anyone could truly replicate the original anime's style with today's tech.
