I wasn't expecting anything after the second season but here we are.

It's still a decently big franchise and they're capitalizing on the popularity while it's still there.

Good to have more Osomatsu, a Movie though? Osomatsu is about more self contained stories, even full episode stories are not the norm, with it mostly been 2 or 3 stories an episode.
On the subject of Osomatsu, are Viz still producing a dub, I know they can rather slow. It took Hunter X Hunter 5 years, but that was more of a bigger show. And they seem to have gone completely quite on the matter since last August

They made it bit confusing by saying how the show didn't do as well as the first season, that was a case of the first season selling extremely well, where the second season just sold well.

The second season still sold better than 96% of present day anime.

I'm thinking exactly the same. But as a fan, more Osomatsu-san anime is welcome. I just hope the movie will be better than the second season.

I still feel like people were overly catastrophizing Season 2’s sales. As long as there’s still a sizable fanbase for it, we’re going to get more stuff like this for quite some time.

While we won't know exactly why Viz is taking a while to dub the show, it could be anything from them being super busy with other projects to slow approval processes from the Japanese licensor.

Anime sales are going down so much each season. It's crazy how low the numbers are right now. All things considered, Osomatsu 2 did really well.
