Kimitoshi Yamane is one of my favorite mechanical designers. It's too bad this would be way too far for me to go to.

I wish we knew why she’s scarcely contributed to anything (well, besides Space Dandy) in over a decade... Maybe someone will ask her there. She was a brilliant writer, imo. There’s this aching, lonely quality to her work that really rings true when paired with the guarded interactions of equally lost and hopeless characters, who somehow manage to sort of find something in each other. And she’s no stranger to fun, which helps the pain go down more smoothly. I always felt she had more hits in her, or at least one more cool, soulful show.

The anime industry is widely known to be very misogynistic.

That's Japanese entire workplace in a nutshell, and at least in the Anime industry there is a better chance for a women to advance than other industries in the country.

I have been waiting 16 years for Toshihiro Nobumoto to come back to New York since I missed him at Big Apple Anime Fest in 2002 (I got Yoko Kanno and Shinichiro Watanabe when they came to Otakon in 2013). Now that disappointment will finally be rectified!! And with Keiko Nobumoto too? This is the best news I've had all week!
