A thousand and one things could have played into the decision to promote Yokohama, but i love to nitpick things so i'm going to point out something interesting:
The portrayal of Yokohama in last year's Spring and Fall Bones anime Bungo Stray Dogs was beautiful, if not spectacular, but that was thanks to the amazing background art by studio Kusanagi. Since then, BSD has had several collaborations in and around Yokohama to promote the show - even the VA special event was held in the city. I've seen on Twitter quite a few pilgrimages to sites featured in the anime, especially those of season 1 episode 10. Very cute! Nice to see newlyweds play newlyweds.
In other news, I will apparently occasionally watch commercials on purpose if they are animated nicely, even without subtitles.
