It's gonna sound petty, but I really hope they improve the design of the character in the game compare to season 1. They kept saying how the game had super cute design like it was some amazing odin sphere level of visual quality but it was actually so incredibly average and unnoticeable! Baring that, at least tone down the praise.

I greatly enjoyed the first season of New Game, hope this second season is also good. I am the binge watcher type so I will only watch the show after they released most of it.

I'm fairly sure that's intentional as they have to differentiate the normal anime world that we're seeing, that's Aoba and the others working, from the game-world, as in the game they're creating in-universe.
You clearly don't want it to look the same and the decision to make it look like a downscaled version of what we're seeing seems natural to me. I wouldn't want the game they're making to look better than the rest of the show but it still has to be more stylized to get the point across that it is just that even from their point of views.

we don't really know the year this is supossed to happen so it might be super modern ps2 era graphics, especialyl considering that we do know the kmangaka was a game creator like 10 years ago.

There's nothing indicating any particular level of graphics in the manga. It's probably just a product of "good enough" as far as the actual models themselves go.

Whoa, I did not think about the idea that Nene and Umiko may be adopting parts of each other's personality, with Nene becoming a bit more serious, and Umiko opening up more in a lighter way.

Is it just me, or have they stepped up the fanservice for this season? I know Paul said he thinks it's pretty much the same as last season, but I'm finding it a lot more distracting. The only real fanservice I remember in S1 was Kou's frequent lack of pants, but so far there's been a lot of "male gaze" shots that I don't remember being so blatant. I'm also going to pretend I didn't hear the remark about the reason why the president only hires girls.... >.>

Aside from the first episode which heavily focused on Kou's panties for an extended amount of time, I'd say the fanservice has been even or perhap slightly less than the first season. Remember the first season had the shower scene with Hifumi and the girls getting their physical/medical inspection. The 2nd and 3rd episodes I believe have been light with the fanservice. I think the second episode only had a few stills of Aoba in animal costumes and the third episode didn't have anything egregiously fanservicy that I can recall. I don't think we even saw Hifumi in her underwear during her changing scene at the beginning but I may be wrong on that. There has been some bouncing with the larger boobs (Hajime/Hifumi) but that's also on par with the first season.

I wouldn't say the fanservice is heavy but I definitely get the impression that it's more obvious than in season 1. For example, the start of episode 3 where Hifumi is shopping clothes as no other purpose than screaming to us "Look, look, isn't she cute?". Compare it to season one where the long night working session leads smoothly to the bathhouse scene.

The purpose of the scene in the beginning is to juxtapose Hifumi's social anxiety and how she has slightly grown to be able to talk to Aoba and try to cheer her up.

One of the crazy bits about the opening segment was that I was thinking I really could relate to the freaking out after being talked to similarly. Social anxiety.

The scene of Hifumi in the clothes store is directly from the manga without any major changes. I can't quite remember the context of what happened after, though.

They really did change that up. The Spinoff! Special(which serves as a prequel) actually gives a more sensible answer: namely, Shizuku poached Aoba from another department because she's cute in exchange for sending the next cute boy who applied over.

Will have to agree on the will they or won't they of Rin and Ko is wearing thin, that Rin should just make her intentions open so this series can decide if it wants to go in yuri relationship thing. I don't think that it would detract from the series.

I would not really say it changes things up, one if the explanation she gives to people, the other is what is really happening.

Hotaru is a bit of an oddball character. She studies in France and when she first enteres the story she just shows up while home on christmas break.
Then after Vol 4 of the manga Vol 5 is a whole flashback side story about the three girls in high school as the Art Club and how they picked their paths in life, it feels odd for Hotaru to just pop up like this because she gets mostly fleshed out in the side story which I'm almost positive won't get animated in this season and would either be an OVA or could be a season all it's own.
