That's around half of Red/Green/Blue sales right? Right about even with Yellow. Impressive.

Not too surprised. The marketing with this game was great, not to mention that I think the game itself is the best in the series. Good job!

Factoring in Sun and Moon's best pre-order record, 14.69 million is a fantastic number! Smile The open-world theme seemed to have helped made it a powerful seller.

The fact that it managed to catch and surpass many of the main entries and remakes from the DS era onwards in less then 2 months is amazing. All these other games took at least a year to reach the numbers posted.

I would definitely agree that Pokémon GO has helped it sell, with people getting back into the Pokémon mood and I'm sure plenty curious to see how Pokémon is like now.

Also, Guzma is the best villainous team leader ever.

Pokémon fans complain about there being only 300 Pokémon species available in Alola, but if you ask me, that number is about right for someone just getting back into Pokémon (or getting into it for the first time). It's not overwhelming, which I think is the biggest obstacle for people and Pokémon.
