You know, I always thought the best part of any Transformer product was its human cast. But making them driving elementary kids? Bu-rilliant.
Oh and the vehicles within vehicles look absolutely does not look ridiculous. Totally, not one bit. Also, apart from the sarcasm fuel, I love those vehicle names.
Interceptor - Mad Max and possibly real life.
Back draft- Ron Howard film of the same name, also real life.
White Hope- ... racism. The best name they could come up with for rescue services?
Saving Hope, Saving Grace, White Night/Knight/Mage, are no good, huh?

Somehow these transforming robots reminds me of that one Japanese Transformer anime where 3 kids had transformers based on police, firefighter and ambulance vehicles.

That was Machine Robo Rescue, not Transformers. This being Takara is showing more similarities to the Brave Saga than anything. The article is mistaken, the White Hope toy has been out for a while now along with support vehicles (helicopter, construction thing) that can be combined for different configurations. More likely they're going to repackage these and the two new cars for a relaunch to go with the anime later.

White Hope on a white ambulance is racist but these aren't?

So it's basically a Japanese take on Transformers Rescue Bots, except with the main cast being all brats because no one in Japan likes adult heroes (not even the adult viewers).

As the article said, Hasbro is their American partner. Given how big the movies have been* and how big Transformers is to Hasbro, splitting it would be wise. That is, I think something like 50/50 or 60/40 (40 for Hasbro) would be good.
*say what you want, but they currently the only commercially successful anime-based live-action movies (though it did start as a toyline initially) the USA has made.

Tomica is actually offering Sonic Interceptor, Rescue Back Draft, and White Hope sets already, but the existing sets are not the Drive Head versions. The Drive Head versions will have different central cars (now known as the "Drive Heads") and different accessories.
