Wow, Japan really loves to rely on nostalgia nowadays. We got new Sailor Moon, Yugioh, Dragonball, Cardcaptor, Osomatsu-san, Berserk, D.Gray Man, Code geass, Baki, Durarara, Black Jack, Lupin, Arslan Senki, Ushio to Tora, Yatterman, Time Bokan, Digimon Adventure, Astro Boy, Tiger Mask, Saint Seiya and now Warau Salesman.

It's sort of the same reason we're getting all those 80's movies and remakes in theaters. The EXACT same reason. (Also, probably because they've taken Doraemon as far as it can go after the recent movies, so they're digging up more Fujio.) |

Oh yeah, I first heard of this when Game Sack talked about it and seemed pretty cool. It almost reminds me of Twisted Metal since it involves a character like Calypso who grants different characters' deepest desires at the cost of something they didn't expect in the deal or something caused by their own volition.
Shame it hadn't really caught on with most people especially on MAL it seems, but I am considering checking it out if this new one is any good. |
