From what I remember reading (apparently I've read up to vol.5) the story gets worse the more you find out about the characters, because it gets stuck in a formula of making everyone a self-loathing, hypocritical arsehole indulging in some form of knowingly self-destructive or hurtful behavior. Certainly starts off intriguing, though.

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't seem to come to like any one of these characters no matter how much sympathy the author shows for them. All of them are selfish and not to mention driven for more greed. Ugh. The characters are just too much in this book. Nothing good comes out of them or they show no redeeming characters or none of them seems to have a real reason to be doing what they are doing right now. It's pitiful.

This had seemed like something I wouldn't want to read just the concept sounds kind of nauseating but good to know it only got worse apparently so I can just pass on it.

This quote summarizes exactly how I feel and what I was gonna write after reading this and various other site's reviews on it. Kind of a shame because the art/character designs are really nice.

Was thinking about giving the anime a chance but after reading this I'll might as well just pass on it.

This is an intreguing story, sort of like "Hot Gimmick", with a seemingly real world feel to it. God knows how many messed up teenagers are actually living this not too dissimilar life right now in the UK alone, however having said that, I'm a bit curious as to just who they are targeting with this story line and how it will eventually end depending on that audience? It could be a cathartic, but redeeming ending where they both eventually come to their senses and recover, or a complete dogs' dinner of "School Days" proportion just for the tittilising sake of it.

I would have to agree with the review as far as the first volume goes. As for where the story goes from there? That isn't really a question for this review, is it? The first volume was really quite well done and intriguing. It made me want to read more and, though the characters were not particularly likable, they drew me in.
