I'm currently rewatching Gilgamesh, a show animated in a style I like to call, Gothic Ugly. That's definitely a seventh for the list.

Gosick or go home. Also, why no Coppelia no Hitsugi? Kids these days, *grumble...gripe*.

I watched Cossette for the first time not that long ago and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The story is rather obtuse and one of those that deliberately lends itself to multiple interpretations (Was it a dream? Or a vision? No, it was real... - wait, sorry, wrong anime), but on the artistic side it shines, with really polished art and animation and a strong soundtrack from Yuki Kajiura that really captures the mood of the show.
Fall season I'm most looking forward to Eupho 2, Joker 4, and March Comes in Like a Lion.

.....How on EARTH do you label Trinity Blood "horror?" Sci-fi? Obviously. Action? Very much so. But... HORROR?! Don't get me wrong, it fits on this list and is easily one of my top 5 favorite anime, but it is NOT horror in the least.

I wouldn't call xxxHolic goth and certainly not specifically centered on death and agree with Sloppy_Jimbo that Gosick should be on the list because at least it has a goth loli character (it's literally Gothic in Japanese) even if it isn't gothic as defined in the header of the column. So many upcoming shows! I don't know anything about most, but I'm looking forward to BBK/BRNK because it started a stinker and ended last season as an interesting show that promises more plot developments.

Too bad xxxHOLiC: Kei isn't available in the US (Funimation's licensing choices continue to puzzle me).

Gosick was too obvious, I suppose
Also, you will never guess what I voted for in this week's poll

I agree with Lynzee leaving Gosick off the list, as that's a series which has a major Goth loli character but isn't really Goth overall. At the very least it's not Goth to the degree that #1, 2, 4, and 5 are. (I am not familiar with #3 or #6 so I can't comment on those.)
As for the poll results, I'm happy to see that my write-in ("Red Fraction") apparently got multiple votes. Kinda hard to argue against almost any of the Top 10, though.

Re: the list: I've never really been into goth stuff, and the only show on the list I've seen is Trinity Blood, which felt a lot like a Trigun rip-off in some ways. I've heard of all of the others except for Lament of the Lamb, which does sound kind of interesting. Other than that, the only one I've been even remotely curious about is Le Portrait de Petit Cossette. The more in-depth description of it in this article definitely piqued my interest quite a bit more than it had been.
Re: the new poll: the "add your own" option isn't showing up on my end. The last time this happened, logging in made it show up, but that didn't work this time. Does it just take a while to show up for whatever reason? Also, for this kind of poll, is it generally considered acceptable to add something like the Zaregoto adaptation, that's not strictly limited to the Fall season? According to the info I've seen, it starts in October, but ends in May. It's 8 OVAs, rather than a TV series, so I'm guessing they're going to release one a month. Assuming the "add your own" option shows up at some point, I'd like to be sure about whether or not I can add it before taking the poll.

^ 55 series isn't enough choices (really, 55?!!)? There's no add your own option because they've already added everything that qualifies. Given the 1-a-month release schedule, the omission of Zaregoto is probably not an oversight.
Although it lacks some of the Victorian trappings, I'd argue that Shiki is gothic. It's got the vampires, the melancholy mood in spades, the remote and gloomy Carpathian Japanese mountains, a looming castle, and even a couple of characters who like the clothing style.

D.Grey-Man should be on the list. While it isn't heavy on vampires, it's set in the Victorian period and deals with a lot of darkness and death. (Goth isn't all about vampires.)
Also, Goth showed up in the 80s. There was always a few students in each school into it. But it was much more of a sub-culture. It wasn't as well known as it was in the 90s. It was particularly popular with Catholics.

It's not "goth"-goth, but it's elegantly showoff, like the trying-way-too-hard OP theme.
Not in the purer sense of Vampire Princess Miyu OVA, perhaps, since Yuuko and Watanuki have actual senses of humor.
And where on the list is The Wallflower, and its girl who knows the difference between Goth and Loli-Goth?

I guess Vampire Knight and Black Butler aren't considered "gothic" enough.

Of these, I watched only Cossete. But I intend to watch all of them.
On Gothic Rock, Gothic Metal and Darkwave, The Sisters of Mercy are great, but don't forget The Cure, The Dammed, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Depeche Mode(somes albums & songs), Bauhaus, Joy Division, Cocteau Twins, Type O Negative, Tiamat, Moonspell and Cradle of Filth, among others.
