That's like a look of profound disappointment in humanity more than anything I'd swear. That's the first time that line has ever sounded kind of amusing and cool too me as opposed to just silly and nonsensical but then that's the talent of a Shakespearean actor for you. With good diction and a penchant for dramatic flair you could make bibbity bobbity boo sound like profound wisdom.

And Gadnalf became a cynical Counter Guardian! I wish he would have recited Shirou's Unlimited Blade Works, but that's just me!

Can anyone say awkward? I could see Vin Diesel reciting those words but Magneto? What is this? Girl and Panzer? Confused

That was... weird. Mostly because he doesn't have a clue as to what the heck he is reading. That chant doesn't really make sense out of context. It doesn't make much sense in context either. He did his best, but he was obviously confused.

Once I found the vid, the end reaction is "what on earth did I just read?"

He looked really reluctant to read it. I'm sure he was cringing inside while he read that awful text.

Now we just need Patrick Stewart to start yelling about Fakers.

That or Michael Fassbender to say Shirou's version.

That stare at the end was scarier than Magneto Shocked

I can only barely tolerate the original but I couldn't make it past 2 seconds of this.

The way he just lets his hand go of the book at the end there, it could be a mic drop, and it could be due to confusion on what did he just read. Either way works for me Laughing

If it's a voice actor like Archer's, I can stand through it every day. I agree with the other posters, context is a very important piece for those lines though.

I remember hearing Archer recite it and thinking it was kinda bad ass. Hearing him recite it was good in a funny kind of way, especially him closing the book at the end. That look on his face. "Yep! I'm done!" Then again, you'd be hard pressed to find a male voice actor with a more suave voice than Junichi Suwabe. Even his family name looks kinda like "Suave." Laughing No wonder he can talk the talk.

Now that just feels so awkward and hilarious! Yeah, if I was completely unfamiliar with the original source material and read a line that is easily out of context like that, even I would make that face as well.

But still, I got to wonder if Ian McKellen is actually familiar with Fate/stay night before reading that incantation but regardless, his reaction at the end was just priceless!
