I just hope they keep it as close to the original as possible nobody wants another Voltron force.

I don't even think the general populous wants a show as "close to the original", just make an honest effort and maybe the production will work out. Worst case scenario it gets forgotten like many other decently received series of the past decade. |

Given that Dreamworks isn't really that into anime enough to know that (whose only experience with anime is releasing a couple of Kon movies hoping to grab the same Oscar that Disney got with the Miyazaki ones, and gave up when they didn't), and only owns Voltron through Classic Media's marketing of the US series, I smell a big fat mess about to happen... One that puts one in mind of the words "Harmony Gold" and "Robotech". |

Is it wrong that part of me wants to see them reboot this Voltron, instead?

Voltron Force was archaic by modern standards, and it aired on TV a few months after Gurren Freaking Lagann. Hopefully the new series avoids that. It doesn't need the "we're on Netflix" moments Seven Deadly Sins had, just give it a good story and good action.

I'll give it a look once it happens. But the image looks interesting.

Sorry idiots, but Combiner Wars is already on its way out the door. Didn't you hear? We're doing Headmasters now...
...oh wait, wrong show. |

I'm cynical about them understanding the appeal of mecha. For the most part we got Pacific Rim right, but we've also had a pile of Transformer movies, leaving the 1986 animated movie to still be the best.

Haven't checked out anything Voltron in a long time. Expect for the Pop Vinyl release. But, out of all the things they could release as a larger pop, Voltron wasn't one of them.

I'm curious what these "we're on Netflix" moments you refer to were. |

Just the fanservice jokes and unashamed casting of the lead as a pervert as opposed to the usual chaste shounen protagonist. I like them, but it feels (coincidentally, not deliberately) like a director went "Hey! We're on the same network as Orange is the new Black!" It's mostly to say that Voltron doesn't need to be super adult, just good. |

Didn't you hear? Combiner Wars is getting an online animated series this year, too. And not Headmasters, Titan Masters, it's completely different (not really). As for Voltron I hope it gets the proper merchandise push that Voltron Force didn't get. Even if the show isn't all that good I still want some decent figures of Voltron out of it. That silhouette looks interesting, are those bird wings? And this being DreamWorks I imagine it'll be CG, right? Emerje |

"Titan On!" sounds awkward.
As for this, here's what you do: 1. Watch Voltron Force. 2. Don't do that. |

Voltron Force was a good series. Too bad it just ended on an ungodly cliffhanger.
