Help. What is the name of this show?

I watched a couple of episodes with a buddy of mine who is now out of the country. I am cannot for the life of me remember the show's name and am in need of assistance. This show has a historical setting. What I remember is a woman committing suicide by jumping from her castle after being told that. Also, a father and son are sent to the rival castle where they are confined. The son is killed (not shown), and then food is brought to the father. Having realized the food is his son, the father does not eat it.

Does this ring any bells out there?
