Nice corporate speak, where nothing is really said.
Sounds like the Koei Facebook rep said the unadulterated truth, and the company official rep is just trying to put out fires. |

Note to Koei Tecmo management, it is counter productive to irritate your customers.

See what i meant? None ever said that the game can´t or won´t come out and they now basically acknowledged a Western release. Story over. Let´s move on the the next storm in a teacup...
The game is even destined to be less controversial now then a few years ago as such exports became more commonplace with Senran Kagura Burst and so on and the general relaxation of ratings boards regarding sex (or the complete lack as here.) |

It sounds to me like they more or less confirmed what the guy originally said. Specifically, this part:
"Respecting and strategizing to support the different global audiences" sounds to me an awful lot like blaming the current climate in the Western game industry except in fancy PR speak. I don't think that the climate is solely to blame. I think it's the low sales potential combined with the toxic gaming climate against anything sexy. I think TK decided it wasn't worth the headache for low sales. Last edited by strawberry-kun on Tue Dec 01, 2015 4:01 pm; edited 2 times in total |

Uh huh.
Didn't the sales of previous installments have half their sales from North America and Europe? This would mean low sales cut in half resulting in much lower earnings, in which case why bother making it. Also, what's with North America's sexual hangups? |

And I still refuse to import due to their bogus excuses. No thanks KT. You can keep your overpriced import.

That is a straight reason why they don`t want to release it. Easy as that.
It`s their decision. If they want to release it or not. If people really want this import it. |

They did say it was only going to be released in Japan and Asia. |

Original:
"We won't be sending this title stateside because of of people yelling at us." New Statement: "We appreciate all the feedback, but we'll release this title in markets where we wont get yelled at. Please stop yelling at us." |

No they didn´t and the one tweet that suggested otherwise was deleted and now specifically debunked with this press release.
“We do not [sic] bring DoAX3 to the West and won't have any plan change [sic] in the future. Thank you for asking,” the employee said in a now-deleted post. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/12/01/koei-tecmo-confirms-dead-or-alive-xtreme-3-will-not-see-western-release Also this: “We remain focused on delivering the best in fighting entertainment to our fans around the world, while consciously respecting and strategising to support the different global audiences the Dead or Alive franchise lends itself to." There were also no campaigns against exporting this game, the press had no ill will toward it (how can one click bait-y game less to review be good?) and i can only repeat that such games are now more commonplace in the west. But please go on and continue using the word chilling effect without looking up the definition and actively being anti free speech. I am done. See you for the official press release for the Western release and i actual bothered to support the developer in the past. Just not with this this vapid crap. Edit: You all do know what the word planed means right? A early 2016 global release would kill the game in the west due to the competition so why should they bother to announce a set release for a niche game still in development (and marketing ) stages. Yes, they did. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/08/02/dead-or-alive-xtreme-3-in-development-exclusively-for-japan-and-asia.aspx
That has nothing to do with the deleted comment too before you ask. This was also before that comment. And even from this latest announcement:
The only comment about an NA release is that we may get an "adjusted" release if there's enough demand which sounds like we'll get a censored release if anything. http://gematsu.com/2015/08/dead-alive-xtreme-3-might-come-west-demand-high-enough Last edited by strawberry-kun on Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:11 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 remains in development and is still planned for release in Japan and Asia only.
Just because I don't think he knows how to read. |

Only means Only there, and not anywhere else. It's not hard, though the PR as a whole is pretty rich in corporate-speak, which is intentionally vague. If anything, that last bit stuck out even more *because* it was specific in its meaning.

Please read my edit above and Shinji Mikami once touted Resident Evil 4 as a GameCube exclusive. In an interview with a Japanese magazine, Mikami even claimed that he would "cut [his own] head off" if Resident Evil 4 came to the PS2. http://www.giantbomb.com/shinji-mikami/3040-32999/
Show me his corpse and i enjoyed 3 full years of marketing classes. I even got to write press releases myself and i give this one an A+. Bye Bye. |

The point to take away from this is that the parent company doesn't approve of people being inflammatory and attempting to blame their own low sales on "the evil feminismz :(" (not that I necessarily think that's what the original press author intended in the first place)
No social justice activists (real ones, not Some Kid's Mom From The Newspaper) give a shit about DOA and honestly never have. (Don't reply to this going "what about this one personal blog post I found!" because that's stupid and you know it.) DOA has never been edgy or offensive in any notable way - they put some boobs in their video games and everybody rolls their eyes and move on. Cycle and repeat. The idea that a significant number of people had ever been offended by DOA is itself a marketing strategy in the hands of people like Playasia. The only reason the game wasn't chosen for localization was sales, plain and simple. Won't be surprised if this game does end up getting a Western release just because of how many morons would buy it solely because of the press regarding their release decisions, though. Like, come on, we have Senran Kagura on American shelves, we are not in a shortage of titty imports. |
