I'm skeptical of a lot of what Guillermo del Toro says, since he's one of those creative types that constantly loves to think out loud.

Don't jinx it, Guillermo. We're still bitter over "Silent Hills."

It can't be over, we haven't seen any robots combine yet. We've yet to see his final form!!!

Rhys: As I said before, Hellboy 3 ain't going to happen for different reasons. Though I think the people at WB obsessed with the live-action Akira might as well bet on it, instead. Anyway, as for Pacific Rim 2, we'll see.

He thinks he's already finished a movie if he he's made the poster to it. We've gotten plenty of posters (so, how's that Disney Haunted Mansion movie coming along, Gil?), but not very much that's actually been finished. Until I see a movie actually released and scheduled, I pretty much take any GDT project as part of his own extended fantasy world. |

Del Toro is hopefully that the Pacific Rim sequel will be made and isn't dead? Sure, I believe it will come out the same day that Hellboy 3 is released and that means nothing at all!

This is essentially what James Cameron has been saying about Battle Angel for over a decade. |

actually there are people that do want hellboy 3. and those that want him to do that instead of a pacific rim sequel. especially considering that its ending doesnt leave any lingering questions. |

Yeah, Mr. DelToro should just give it up and "work" on something which includes a better story and more interesting characters. I didn't think Pacific Rim had either but slid by on special effects while HellBoy had a little more of those. But really, is he actually working or just trying to sell a story and looking for someone to pay for it?

Thing is, people (okay, *I*) watched Pacific Rim expecting giant robots. And giant monsters. And giant robots fighting giant monsters. The trailers promised all those, and they didn't lie.
Story and characters... ehh, not my first priority. (The very same reason why I couldn't fully enjoy Godzilla 2014. Too much Aaron Taylor-Johnson. ) |

Cameron's case is different - he can fund it by himself. He can do Battle Angel Alita tomorrow if he wants to. He's doing something else right now by choice, not because he has to wait for funding. |
