While I'll recommend watching the first season because it, despite some shortcomings, was entertaining and fresh...
This second season seems to be its own thing. I would be very, very surprised if they tied them together--at least to the extent where you need to have watched the first season to understand (ie; more than a couple nods).

I thought the new protagonist was supposed to be a woman?
If she is, she looks very masculine.

Alright thanks. I do plan on watching the first season, i just wont have enough time before this airs. But im keeping a close eye on MAPPA as well as Lerche so i've decided to watch all their shows, just haven't gotten around to Garo, at aired at a very inconvenient time for me

You do know that the white-haired woman could be a protagonist as well.

^She could indeed, but the position of the characters in the Key Visual and the order of their introductions in the video suggests that Raiko will be the protagonist, so I hope she's a "masculine" woman, because I got excited by the news of a female protagonist for the franchise

I don't know if anyone wants my opinion but I'd love to see a "Garo" anime that's set in the United States. And the Horrors,I'd love to see them in the traditional costumes from all over the world. Since America is a multi-ethnic society,I'd love to see them do that, wouldn't you?
