First Kekkai Sensen, now this. I just hope they can deliver it next week with the same level of visual quality as seen in the PV.

The engine of this project is being hard to start.
The fact that they were able to delay the episodes in the Television broadcast is something amazing. At least they will substitute it with the extra, otherwise I'm certain the TV station would blacklist them. |

Production issues with the very first episode doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence! Hopefully they're having minor teething troubles and things don't escalate from here.
I've been looking forward to God Eater, I'd hate to see it go down the drain pipe. |

My thoughts exactly. I understand production problems coming up mid-to-late season as small things start piling up, but roughly a week before the first episode has even aired? Sounds like either something completely unforeseen happened suddenly or scheduling/production issues are cropping up really, really early. Hopefully it's just a stumble and they can recover. It would suck for any project to tank because of something that happened before the show even left the gate. |

The difference between the two is with Kekkai they wanted to make the last episode longer. With God Eater they put it on the back burner too long while already struggling through the second cour of UBW and are now extremely far behind production, to the point episode 1 isn't even done for air date. There's rumors circulating that God Eater will end up not airing until August 14th, rather than just being held back a week. |

Yeah...I had a feeling this was possible given the whole thing during UBW S2 and after. Not so great 2015 for ufotable. *wipes tear*

The rest of the episodes are going to be shitty, then?

Well it is kind of understandable, ufotable after all are a studio who don't make too many anime, usually like one series and a movie a year. So suddenly taking on two series one after the other might have been a bit much for them, they are more of a movie than a series company after all. |

They cancel that premiere event thing then delay the first episode. If they did a delay/cancel on any other of the episodes or home video releases, then this company could have some serious quality control issues.
For Kekkai Sensen, they could have just had it be 11 TV episodes then have it as an online or DVD/BD episode. |

Pretty sure that's a false rumor since it sounds like it was based off NECO channel's announcement for their own schedule: http://www.necoweb.com/neco/info/detail.php?id=400 They were one of the last ones planned to air the episode in comparison to Tokyo MX, BS11, etc. |

Lately, and by lately I mean since 2007, they are more like, one series or one movie or one OVA per year. I wouldn't call them more of a movie than a series company! Most people aren't aware, but Ufotable is doing stuff since 2000, and their own first TV series was made in 2002. Comparing what movies they made and TV series, they have a lot more TV series than movies. Looking at movies they mainly have Kara no Kyoukai that started in 2007. Yep, is a movie series with a lot of movies, but after that they just did 2 other movies and are doing 1 more now. If anything I would say that Ufotable is mainly a subcontracting/outsourcing anime studio. Last edited by bigivel on Wed Jul 01, 2015 11:17 am; edited 1 time in total |

On the one hand, it's delayed. On the other, it's better than shoddy animation. If they do this now, there may be less to fix for the BD release too.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has a lot of clout in Japan, but I doubt they can convince the TV stations to delay much longer. They have their own channel though if it comes down to it I suppose though it's broadband only and they'll want to get it out on the regular broadcast stations. |

One of two things can happen. Either the first few episodes will be shit because of productions problems and therefore delays, or it will be high quality and lives up to its expectations. In any case, more delays doesn't exactly bode well for the show.
