I predict that with the way the Dressrosa arc is going, volume 79 is going to break volume 78's record, which in turn broke volume 77's record.

It's become kind of routine for One Piece to break sales records. Everything that comes after the Guinness Book of World Records nod pales in comparison.

I believe the exception is if you combine the amount of anime units sold with the amount of its manga sales, Dragonball is the champion for that.

The only one who can beat One Piece is One Piece.

it's worth the note that even though one piece recent volumes may break the record for the first week they don't seem to be able to reach the same total sales before falling from the charts as previous ones. an example would be volume 77 that in 14 weeks is still STUCK at 2.8M without any apparent chance of reaching the once usual 3M mark

They are investing in digital sales lately, and we don't have data for those.
That would easily explain the diminished volumes sales.
