i have never played this game series and was wondering, is it a yuri rpg game series or is it just a regular rpg game?

It isn't yuri, but there is a lot of fanservice

How are the Vita titles in comparison to the ones on PS3? $40 seems like a lot to sink into an AA-tier game to me on handheld.

More content/overhauled gameplay system more inline with Victory, better translation (since it's not NIS). If you've never played the games then Re'birth are the best ones to play through
