I hope there'll be some good news regarding the ports. Also, Sekai has announced that additional information about the 18+ edition will be released towards the end of the KickStarter.

I may very well have to pick this up. Story sounds quite interesting.
Doesn't really matter to me if its 18+ or not, though I'm curious what it is they're going to say about the 18+ version when the Kickstarter closes. |

This details the controversial change in only releasing the all ages version for Kickstarter. They say informally, that there's a strong chance the 18+ version will come later on the condition of this funding, but we don't have any official plans yet. Some people including me, have pledged, but are waiting until official confirmation to really commit any money. We'll withdraw if we don't hear anything before end of January. It'll likely still make it, but personally I won't commit without their commitment to the original uncut version. But I remain optimistic because they sound confident too. They just need more time apparently. |

The feelings mutual. There can be games where those scenes fit quite well and improve the story. I'd like that to be true of this one as well. So if they do release the uncut version, I'll get that instead. |

Where is the Fate Realta Nua kickstarter? I know there's already a fan translation but it would be nice to see an official release, specially on consoles.

That's a nice turn around time. Congrats to those that help fund the localization of what was originally a porno game.

I planned to fund it first but they don't have an option to get a Meikyuu or Rakuen without paying for all trilogy so I'll wait fort the official release and buy it after.

I'm not backing this until we know what's going on with the 18+ version.

While i am psyched about this it depresses me Muv-Luv which is similar won't ever get the same treatment. We're known yet we're unknown. https://vndb.org/v/all?q=;fil=tagspoil-0;o=d;s=rating
If just one person jumped on that AoT band wagon we could make it happen. It would probably have to be Total Eclipse pc though, Kimi Ga Nozomu is another option. Yeah Rumbling Hearts ties in to the Muv-luv verse. Also Taguchi, Hiroko or rather the character Suou, Amane has the same voice actress for Kagami, Sumika. |

First Stretch Goal ($200,000) reached, Idol Magical Girl ChiruChiru ☆ Michiru will be translated as well.
Also, the ports of the second Stretch Goal ($240,000) were revealed as for Mac/Linux/Vita* *awaits Sony's approval |

You shouldn't do this. It isn't formally against Kickstarter rules because Kickstarter has no way to enforce it (it would get really complicated legally), but it's very much 'not done' on Kickstarter to withdraw your pledge. If more people pledged in an 'I can always withdraw' way, Kickstarter wouldn't work as suddenly lots of pledged funds would disappear near the end of campaigns. By the way, I can 99% guarantee you that when the 18+ version is released, you won't be able to get it through Kickstarter (it can only be bought separately). Sekai would like to offer some kind of price reduction or something for backers, but that almost certainly won't be possible due to...issues. You'll find out in time.
I've only played two routes and part of another route, but so far it's a mixed bag strongly leaning to 'no added value'. In Makina route they're simply of no added value at all, for Michiru route the first one could be argued to add to the story (though only the fact that they have sex arguably could add to the story, the scene itself is otherwise entirely useless) and the second one is probably the worst immersion-breaking sex scene I've ever seen, giving a terrible end to an otherwise amazing scene. For Sachi route I've only seen the first "sex scene" (it doesn't really count), which does seem to set up something to build on during the next sex scene for actual added story value. Then again, I'm not trusting the writers to actually do this properly and I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't end up adding anything at all. The more pressing issue is that in addition to sexually explicit scenes, the Japanese Vita port also tones down some excessively gruesome parts, which ARE important to the story. However, it's unknown if this will also occur in Sekai Project's version, and the translator has stated he'll try to include the gruesome parts in the Sekai version. For the PC version, there's no reason to appease Sony by toning down the content (as was the case with the Japanese Vita port), so the ball seems to be entirely in Front Wing's (the developer's) court now.
The Western visual novel market is tiny, and Type-Moon is huge. The licensing costs required to get their biggest title are huge, and none of the companies in the market are capable of making enough money off of the license to make the decision to license it anything but financial suicide. Type-Moon stuff has been asked for for ages and various companies have tried, but it just isn't happening until VNs get MUCH bigger in the West.
A long time ago, MangaGamer tried to obtain the license to the Muv-Luv series. However, age (its developer) absolutely refused to license Muv-Luv right off the bat, only even considering licensing Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. Talks took a very long time and didn't really go anywhere, until the Muv-Luv fan translation group (Amaterasu Translations), who were also involved in the negotiations (technically; practically they hadn't heard anything in ages, which is why they did what they did), released the fan translation patch for Muv-Luv Alternative, causing age to withdraw from the negotiations. In short, age was unwilling to license Muv-Luv in the first place, and they also have bad experiences with licensing to the Western VN market now. Getting Muv-Luv licensed is unlikely. (A faint hope, however, is that Liar-soft, involved in slow negotiations that didn't go anywhere with MangaGamer and Amaterasu at the same time, and which Amaterasu also broke away from by releasing a patch (at the same time as the Muv-Luv Alternative patch), did recently license one of their most popular games (Gahkthun) to MangaGamer. So who knows, maybe age will try again too.) |

Project already reached both stretch goals, ie Idol Magical Girl Chiruchiru ☆ Michiru spin-off at $200 000, and ports for Mac/Linux and possibly for PS Vita(pending negotiations with Sony) at $240 000.
Tally currently stands at ~$247 000. |
