I REALLY hope Shulk's Chain Attack allows randomization of other party members to join instead of just having Dunban and Riki or even be part of one of his customization options. I mean, who doesn't want to end a Chain Attack with Melia's Mind Blast or Seven's/Fiora's Final Cross?!

Shulk is a welcome edition to the Smash series, I'm not a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles but he's definitely seems like lots of fun. Too bad this is the only good news besides Bravely Second's release from the direct, the rest is terrible. Can't wait until I get the Japanese 3DS version.
Nintendo instantly fell from grace after the New 3DS was announced, that thing has old Nintendo tyranny with a twist written all over it.

Correction: Monolith Soft did not do Xenogears. Yes, the staff from Xenogears moved on to create Monolith Soft, but Xenogears was done by Squaresoft. If you want a third title to list, Baten Kaitos is their other major title.

I guess this confirms the leak for sure, if there was any doubt left.

I'm sure it did Fatt_One.
Anyway I’m feel joyful hearing that Shulk is going to be Smash. He looks different from his game of origin. It’s both is hair and face. I don’t know how to describe it. Anyway it was funny seeing Shulk strike Bowser from behind using backslash (a move fitting for attacking enemies from behind) and sending him flying. Before then Bowser just coming of intimidating and suddenly got his attention distracted by a butterfly. Also how he handle himself against Marth and Link was cool.
His final smash looks to be a chain attack with Dunban and Rikki with Shulks finishing move being Monardo Buster from the looks of it. My sister was wondering why it couldn’t Reyn be a part of it since he and Shulk are best friends, but it wasn’t a big deal for us. Besides, I think Reyn is going to appear as an assist trophy. Either him or Alvin (going by the fact with Sonic case his assist trophy was Shadow instead of his best friend Tales).
The Gaur Plain stage looks beautiful as well as expansive (keeping to the spirit of Xenoblade Chronicles). The stage gives off this natural, jungle like feel (as well as a the atmosphere staring at an image from a fantasy story book) which I like and makes since being that Guar Plains is like a mix between the Savanna (more specifically the Maasai Mara) of Narok, Kenya and the grassland of Jurassic Park, but with more fantastical features added to it. Also Mechonis in the background looks even more menacing then he does in the game. Perhaps is because I can see it more clearly in this game then I could in Xenoblade when it was obscure by clouds and distance.
Lastly by then end of the video it appears that Metal Face is going to be a boss in Smash. Taking him down with Shulk would be fitting, but I also personally wanted to take him down with Sonic. Metal Face stole that one taunt from Sonic early in the game (that shaking your finger like “Ah na ah ah”. I don’t know if I’m typing that right.). I can just picture going Super Sonic on him and breaking him to pieces. But then I doubt we can use final smashes during boss fights. That is unless it’s going to be like that case with the stage with the Yellow Devil which Metal Face would just be a stage hazard, but thinking about it I doubt that as well. Otherwise even better I would like to see both Shulk and Sonic take on Metal Face together.
Overall this is by far my favorite of the Smash promotional videos in terms of well choreograph fight scenes mix in with some funny moments. I was wondering if they ever dis decide to add Shulk to the roster how they were going to make use of his ability to predict his opponents move before it happens, and I figure out a way. It looks similar to how you can have characters dodge attacks and then strike them from behind. I wonder if using vision would be easier to pull off then the typical dodging and striking characters from behind. On another note I like the latest illustration featuring Shulk and the others. One of my favorites promotional art of this game so far. Now…what about the other characters that were leak such as Bowser Jr. for example (whom I didn’t expect to see being a part of the roster.)?
P.S: “It’s Shulk Time?” Shulk just stole Reyn’s line and made it his own. I wonder how Reyn would feel about that.
P.S.S: Seeing Shulk suddenly in his underwear in one scene was priceless.

Either November or Decemeber Pangea, but I am sure the release date was November the last I heard. Are we just really not sure now?

Super excited for this reveal (despite the leak...). Shulk was probably my most wanted newcomer in Smash, and to see it actually happen makes me even more pumped for the new Smash than ever!
A little disappointed to see Xenoblade Chronicles make its way to 3DS instead of Wii U though. I would love an HD remaster of that game on Wii U. But the new 3DS version probably kills that possibility. At least Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming to Wii U.
