So happy this is getting a second season and the attention it deserves. Too many shows I fall in love with barely get paid attention to, let alone another season!

According to the link, episode 5 which the site says was the 1st season's most popular.

I would agree with that. Episode five was the best episode. when i saw it i felt about time it starts to get real good. But then episode six came around and it was the same boring stuff.

Actually I kinda disagree. There a lot of people who'd tell me episode 5 was the best but I only feel that the Episode's only real strength was how the first 2 parts of it were directed and that Dandy finally got to do something that would establish his character other than be a jackass. On those merits I'd understand that, but otherwise I thought that episode was really, really cliche, especially in the end where I was hoping to get at least a brick joke or something, but nope.
Honestly I had a lot more fun with episodes 4, 7 and 10, but that's just me. I get that Space Dandy isn't everyone's cup of tea but I really don't see how a road trip episode that follows the cliche's to a T is the best when the show does a lot more weirder stuff.

I thought they liked it because of the little girl (and some hope she comes back grown up).

The streamed promo event wasn't really all that great.
I don't think it had much in the way of new information.

Or different people like different things for various reasons. There's no need to compete for who has the best or worst explanation for why someone likes a particular episode. Say, I'm sure the people who liked episode 7 (one of my favorites, by the way!) did so only because Prince was just so dreamy.
I liked episode 5 well enough myself. There were better episodes but also worse ones. I thought it was nice and a good change of pace. Which, rather than the weirdness or craziness per se, is what I appreciated the most about Space Dandy. There was a huge variety from week to week and it's not a bad thing to go for a more down-to-earth story even if those have been told before.
