I think you mean first "directorial" work in theaters.

Looks like a beast of a set. It might be worth mentioning that the standalone Ghibli BD and DVD "remasters" of "Cagliostro" will make their debuts on August 6th.

Both URLs for the BD and DVD are dead in the first paragraph.

They've been going up and down all evening. I think something's up with Amazon's servers or they're doing some kind of traffic/order throttling. But they're all quite real listings, I guarantee it.

If only they brought it over to North America. I would absolutely buy this.

Jack Cox: They'll come over here, but as cheapo Disney versions.

While Miyazaki co-directed episodes of the first Lupin III television anime series with Isao Takahata under the name "A Pro Enshutsu Group," the Yuki no Taiyō pilot is the first project that is actually credited in his name. It is also the first project with him as the sole director. The pilot did not run in theaters until last December, 41 years later.

Egan: But my point is it's not the first anime film with his name attached to it. Justin just mentioned Horus, for example.

That's why the first sentence of the article specifies "The Collected Works of Director Hayao Miyazaki," and the subsequent sentences specify works that "listed Miyazaki as the director" and "films directed by Miyazaki."

Very nice looking set for hardcore Miyazaki fans. I hope that when Discotek releases The Castle of Cagliostro on BD they use the master mentioned in this article, provided it looks stunning.

I'd love to get this, though it'll probably cost a fortune. Will the eng dub be included for each movie?

I second that. It is too bad that the great Takahata seems to be very under appreciated by fans in both sides of the Pacific.

The collection on Blu-ray on Amazon.jp is currently selling for 64,800 yen (about US$630).
I would love to take this chance to buy the set, but uh... Money.
