Since Bamboo Dong's review of "Sorcerer Hunters" is quite old and the thread about it is long ago locked, I was advised to create new one to add few thoughts in more outright, less subtle way... for those, who consider watching this anime...

the most important thing that has to be said straight is that this project is like twice longer story-wise than needed... this means that at least half of the show is just mere "monster of the week" filler, even though plot of these separate stories is not bad...

(actually, i almost dream that ***every's*** anime encyclopaedia page would include characteristic about how much of its content actually about developing grand story, and how much about fillers... basing on that principle alone, i would not watch this anime, but i would watch, for example, "Arc The Lad", even though it is by far not perfect... me and possible many more people would save a lot of time...)

the humour is questionable, since it mostly goes around girls hitting the protagonist with a lash and a wire in attempts to restrain him from going for girls... i personally never found anything "ecchi" or funny in such scenes... the guy, besides monster mode, is basically "kindest and harmless being on earth" type, and the way ecchi shows torture these types is blatantly sadistic in both physical and psychological way (since the guy is in obvious need of sexual activity that is often provoked but never allowed)...

the protagonist is likeable character, with Japanese voice actor perfectly fitting the mood of the series... most of other characters get some development in the show, too...

the saddest thing about this show is that the melodies by Jenji Kawai, one of the most prominent composers for anime, are buried forever in this sup-bar project...

i would actually recommend to buy the OST, not the series, and pay attention to the following instrumental tracks (especially the first two-three):
Quote:

27 - Hitosuji no Kibou
03 - Kami to Yobareta Otoko
24 - Mezameru Yajuu
26 - Iyasareru Koto no Nai Kanashimi no Naka de
19 - Shiitagerareshi Mono tachi no Inori
11 - Aitte Taeru Kotonanone
12 - Madoromu Hitotoki

personally, i find music to be of much higher artistic value than the story and graphics, which could be forgotten, while epic sad but beautiful melodies are to stay forever in the memory, if they were able to touch your heart...

but, again, this only possible if these melodies appear in projects that are worthy of such quality of music and people actually have chance to know about it...
