Interestingly enough I'm actually a member of another forum that deals a little more directly with Robotech itself, as well as the original Super Dimensional Fortress Macross series, and I should probably admit that we've been discussing this quite a bit. Our consensus, as far as I could tell, was that we weren't sure whether to be really stoked and excited to see it or completely scared that it was going to be very strange. If nothing else, that's sort of still my own personal reaction to the news.

What a odd twisted Crossover. Were talking about American versions of a childish/butchered Giant/Super Robot genre series like Voltron crossing over with Real Robot genre/butchered (editing wise) gritty series like Robotech.
One-Off is right, it be painful one. |

It doesn't seem to be a crossover in the usual "Characters from one show meeting characters from another", it's more an amalgam. And alternate universe where characters and aspects of each show exist side by side. Which sounds interesting. I'll pick this up.

Whoa, this is odd. Now where was this idea years ago when we crossed over the 2 Voltrons? Where was this idea when the folks at Harmony Gold decided to take 3 different shows that had no connection whatsoever to make Robotech? So, why not?
But lets try to explain robeasts and zentradi invasions have some kind of connection. Now that's odd. |
