I really, really hope they don't botch the delicious potential of a girl being transported to another world and traveling with an all-females cast.

My sentiments exactly.

Again I ponder why these shows which cater to this demographic can't also include a plot, decent writing, and character development.

...then I remember how reviled Grenadier and Witchblade were by the anime community at large, and I feel as though I have, regrettably, answered my own question.

Cheaply catering to fetishes has surpassed the basic tenets of telling a good story. What has the world come to? Crying or Very sad

Oh, how exactly does one base a show off of a pachinko game? I suppose the Japanese have done zanier things, but this is analogous to American tv creating a show based off of a slot machine.
