What anime/animes do you think would be good as a live-action format? (It doesn't have to be your favorite; just something that might look good.)

I think Zatch Bell would work well great if they did all the Mamodos as puppets created by the Jim Henson Company. Of course they'd have to make different eyes/heads for each of their expressions.

Wait... huh!?... wasn't this thread just in the manga forum!?

Ah well, i'll say the same thing here that i said there:

Id' love to see a live-action Cyborg 009 movie...

And a live-action Lupin III movie wouldn't be too bad either!

And there's already that Devilman movie that came out recently, i'm dying to see that!

Hm, I'm not sure... I think any anime has good potential to be good live action as well...
I'm not going to answer what you really asked, what i WANT to see live action would probably be some fighting anime, like Naruto or Bleach...

Another thing to note is that I LOVED the live action GTO... I thought it was far superior than the anime version... the actor for Onizuka (dammit can't remember his name) was PERFECT for the role IMO.

If you're talking about live action, I would prefer a more normal anime shows like Kare Kano, Boys Be..., I My Me Strawberry Egg, Noir, etc. or lets say, School genre Anime smile no need to do some intense visual effects, etc.... I wonder what would Fruits Baskets look like if it became a live-action.... Laughing

Someday's Dreamers would translate well to live action, but probably wouldn't be very popular.

Terrible. xD I wouldn't like to see anything live action. It's anime, and it should stay that way, for the sake of keeping its spirit, and everything that makes it what it was originally intended to be.

A fair amount of anime is adapted from manga, there also those who say that these should have stayed as manga. Howl's Moving Castle, Gankutsuou, Agatha Christie no Mantantei etc. are based on western novels, where do they draw their 'spirit'? There have been live action series based on Agatha Christie novels for a long time, if the anime version had been made first, would you complain about these being made? Would you complain if they devided to make a hollywood movie based on Howl's Moving Castle, simply because the story has suddenly obtained an anime 'spirit'? If they decided to make a James Bond anime, would you stop liking the movies?

Kind of Ironic when most anime were adapted from manga. So if you want to keep the "spirit" of the original, the manga is the only true version.

Most Live action series are very low budget. So something like Naruto would probably not work well since they would have to create the setting, special effect and other stuff.

So anime such as Berserk, Bleach, Naruto etc wouldn't make good live action series sorry. Could you imagine a 11 year old kid with a ninja head band on and doing crazy leaps. Some anime wouldn't translate well into live action

I have to agree with you here, story with tons of fantasy element usually don't translate well. Gokusen and GTo are good example of what would work. I have a tread similar to this in the manga forum and I thought Genshiken would make a great live action series. It's not very special effect heavy or need crazy setting.

Yes, but Manga and Anime are both of the same idea, where as, let's face it, real people in live action movies don't look like anime characters.

Haha, never have I posted anything without getting contradicted, so I'm not at all surprised with this.

I'll re-word myself: I, with my opinion, would not like to see a current anime produced into a live action movie. For me, even if they matched the plot, it would ruin the characters. People do not react the same way as anime characters, or, shall we say, humans can not react the same ways.

I'm picky with voices, and it would be hard to match. I'm saying that I'd prefer it not to be done. I'll leave it at that to avoid this happening all over again. I would not like it. I just don't like the idea.

I agree with Siilent... for the most part...

I'm not wetting myself exited about the idea of a live-action Cyborg 009 movie, it's if yer gonna make a movie based on an anime i'd prefer either 009 or Lupin...

I'd say something they'd need to work hard to screw up like Noir, Witch Hunter Robin, and Tsukihime. They should stay far far away from super-powered over-the-top fighting anime like DBZ, and complicated stuff like Lain.
