I got quite a chuckle out of the "Is Alucard Jesus?" question, 'cause that's actually not the first time I've heard that theory! I was watching the final episode of the series with a friend, who was very eager to find out "who Alucard really was". When the lightning flashed he jumped up out of his seat and shouted, "That was too fast! Who's face was that? Was it Jesus??"
I personally never saw the resemblance...
I maintain Alucard is the historical Dracula, Vlad the Impaler. The big goofy moustache is right out of the famous portrait of Vlad Tepes, and the final shot of Incognito impaled on the Tower Battlement seems to support the theory.

Ummmmmmmmm.
Of course he is Vlad Tepes. What do you think Alucard spells backwards?
Here is a picture of the historical Dracula. Looks mighty familiar to me.

You know, I can't for a second believe that I didn't think of that. Yeesh. I'm getting senile. It might be because I've seen other depictions of 'Alucard', mostly as Dracula's son or a descendant of Dracula, not the man himself. I assumed Alucard is one of the first undead or imbibed with the power of the first undead, but not actually Mr. Tepes. Anyway, the fact that he IS Vlad (and it makes a lot of sense that he is), adds yet another coolness factor to the whole thing.
It would have been awesome if Alucard was supposed to be Jesus, though. "You are nothing but demonic vampire scum, my son."
Oh, and that picture of Vlad is creepy.

4Kids will probably be releasing all their titles on dvd. They're just focused on Kirby and Yu Gi Oh, because those are their best sellers.

Mass increase in devotion by hordes of metaphysically barren adolescent pseudo-intellectuals because Jesus is cool?

...or hordes of Christians condemning the series for being even more blasphemous than it already is?
I think the whole 'death' and 'killing' and 'undead' things would probably not go over too well.. particularly since Jesus himself wasn't a warrior.
You could possibly argue it as a metaphor for the "Warrior of God" verses ("Put on the Breastplate or Righteousness", etc etc.) .... or you might be able to argue that he's condemning witches and wizards and thus executing them... but that clashes with verses mentioning judgement in Heaven..
Hm. No, I don't think it'd fly very well.

Well, with sensible people, certainly not.

I thought he got kicked out for drawing maps in the sand on national TV.

Maybe. If there was more to it than "Geraldo got kicked out", then I did.
If not, then it just wasn't taken far enough to be funny in the first place.

well...
okay, see geraldo 'drew' (to form a sketch, to depict) a map... and here he 'drew' (to extract; to drain) too much blood..
... *sigh* it's not funny when you have to explain it. :p
