The release only just finished recently, so you may have to wait a few months (though I'd imagine ADV will do one of their extra-less thinpak releases, which is good, because most of the extras were apparently not so great)

Well if it's a set you're looking for and don't feel like waiting you could always buy the original Perfect collection on 8 DVDs like I did. You can probabally still find it somewhere on the net.

ADV does tend to release collections for decent prices. Buying all of the Platinums at retail is expensive if you already own the entire series on DVDs. I think there are a good number of people who own the original DVDs who are hesitant on spending so much cash on rebuying the entire series, but would get a thinpack set of the 5.1. I hope Bandai does the same for the 5.1 Bebop release too.

Yeah, while I enjoyed Evangellion I didn't like it enough to buy the series twice. I'd only be willing to do that if it got the thinpack treatment, could be bought for $50 or less, and included the director's cut footage and improved video and audio.
