Greetings and felicitations. The Nono-chan (TV) entry states that it is

Quote:

However, page 265 of The Anime Encyclopedia states in the My Neighbors the Yamadas entry:

Quote:
In 1997, Ishii began serializing Nono-chan, a follow-up to the original manga. Featuring very similar situations but concentrating this time on the misadventures of a cheeky third grader, Nono-chan was picked up for TV broadcast late in 2001. It was directed for Toei Animation by Nobutaka Nishizawa, using fully digital animation in imitation of the Yamadas movie, and shown on TV Asahi.

It also seems to me a bit absurd that a television show that lasted 61 episodes (per its ANN Enc. entry) would be composed of a 104 minute movie. Thus it seems that Nono-chan is only indirectly related--at least until further information is available.

[Fixed]

Does "composed of" necessarily mean that it only used the movie as material? I don't think so. ^^; It could mean that they used some parts of the movie in the TV series.

But um, from the description you quoted, it sounds more like it was inspired by the animation and didn't actually use any of it. I don't want to remove the link yet though, until whoever did that can site their own sources for doing it. ^^
