The thing about Kodomo no Jikan is that even though some of it was licensed it was pulled out due to controversy in English releases. I know that at least the english manga release was pulled early on due to controversy about being unsuitable for North American audiences. A dub release never stood a chance at possibly being made.

So those who want to watch this series have to rely on fansubs. Too bad really as I enjoy the series, actually the encyclopedia should be updated for a recent OAD, but I would have no real idea how that would be done.

What is weird is that a friend sent me a link to a site that had Dual Audio like (but not) animefreak. I watched the 1st Episode in English then downloaded it all in japanese/english subtities...

It makes sense that noone ever spent the money to do an English Dubbing.. because you could not sell the DVDs....

But I did watch it, cannot find the site, and it was professional and in English.....

Strange.

There are such a thing as fandubs you know. You probably encountered one of them. Either that or it was dubbed in some other English speaking country like the UK or Australia.

Ha ha you are funny. Chances are I would get in trouble if I even admited to watching this. No one is going to turn me in are they?

But yes I was thinking maybe a fandub as well.

An official English dub of Kodomo no Jikan would amuse me. Funi should pick it up.

What would amuse me would be FUNi licensing it and Zac writing a review for it Wink

Anyway, there's no official English dub for KnJ, and I'm sure there never will be.

Are you referring to the DVD's? There are indeed two audio streams on them. Japanese dubbing and actor commentary.

Recently-produced audio tracks of such providences are extremely rare nowadays, especially in the case of productions falling foul of the obscenity laws that plague all the major English-speaking countries.

That's kind of what I thought but I also didn't want to immediately discount the possibility that other countries might have more lenient laws. *shrugs*
