Hello all, first post, but I've been lurking for several years and usually have my questions answered before I need to start a topic, but this one I have not been that lucky with.
I am a big fan of Blue Gender but have always been weary of buying the movie since it is supposed to be mostly recap and recap films leave a bad taste in my mouth (RahXephon anyone?). My questions is what is the different ending supposed to be? The series ending is a bit rushed and I just don't see how the movie could be any better. Thanks in advance for your help. |

The movie version entirely edits several of the plot threads from the series (there's nothing in the movie, for instance, about spoiler[Sleepers or Council intrigues] and changes some details in other places, although the fundamental story is the same. The ending is significantly different; the movie basically caps with the part about spoiler[Marlene trying to save Yuji from himself and entirely rewrites how the stuff on the space station gets resolved]. It doesn't even cover what goes on in the last couple of episodes.
If you didn't like the way the RahXephon movie was handled then you're unlikely to like Blue Gender: The Warrior, either. It holds together a bit better and makes a bit more sense but is still basically the same kind of condensation/rewrite. |
