Off the top of my head:
Zelda: Ocarina Circle, Rupee Avenue, Hyrule Hills, Triforce Circle (for the oxymoron)
Mario: Fire Flower Drive, Bowser Boulevard
Sonic: Knuckles Avenue
Pokemon: Pikachu Plaza
Donkey Kong: Barrel Road
Metroid: Ridley Road
Kirby: Dream Street
I just hope they aren't too absurd because people are going to have to write these down as their home address. I know I'd feel silly telling people I live on Knuckles Avenue.

It's not the first time a housing developer had a weird idea in Spain, The Mazinger Z (10 Meters tall, made out of fiberglass) statue in Tarragona was built in the early 80's as part of an unfinished housing project called "Mas de Plata" way before Japan and Korea got into the mood of making Gundam, Tetsujin 28 and Taekwon V statues.

Silly? Not at all, well at least not for me. I would really dig living on Knuckles Avenue or Pikachu Plaza. By the way, Bravo!... with the street names you came up with, pretty creative.

I can see the System Wars going full blast in this neighborhood within 2 or 3 years...The guys in Pipe Plaza are going to be in constant warfare against the guys at Infinity Ward Avenue. The guys (and girls!) at Sonic Ring will get made fun of by everyone else while they just sit quietly, and the poor fellows at Reshiram Roundabout will be caught in the middle, occasionally asked why they're still watching that kids' show.

Such a gimmick would probably be very appealing to me. I'm pretty sure if there was neighborhood with Metal Gear named streets, I'd move there.

So I take it this is targeted at people in the 25-30 age group? I don't know how the economic climate is for people in Spain of this age group. Where I live in the UK most of the people my age (25) are struggling to be able to afford to move out of the parents houses into even rented accommodation and that's with having full time jobs.
Mind you my cousins who are in their late twenties/early 30s have moved into either rented or owned homes and seem to be doing fine, but both of them have long term partners so are living on two incomes I suppose that is what makes the big difference.
I am just wondering if people in the 25-30 age group who will get all nostalgic about a "Super Mario Bros. Ave" are going to be able to live in "Super Mario Bros. Ave" is all.

A lot of video game site are talking about this. Joystiq, Kotaku, IGN, and other are talking about the street name after Mario in Spain. I would like to see more of this, like King of Harts describe. I got some other name like:
Oscar Mike Road
Spartan Street
Rapture Boulevard
Kratos Avenue
Oh and I would like to see some countries name street after anime/manga like:
Eden East Street
Goku Boulevard
Akira Avenue
Negi Street
Gundam Avenue

Wow, that's interesting. Never thought I'd see another nationality doing something like this.

Presuming that our difficulties in obtaining mortgages is shared by other EU countries, I'd like to think that the prices for these niche properties are appropriate for their presumed target audience.

This is way less awesome than it seems. The names are super boring titles like Super Mario Bros Street. There's nothing like, "Koopa Lane" or "Triforce Parkway". It's all just the title of a game with street, avenue, etc behind.

I'd bet physical space is the issue here. The UK is a very small country, land-wise, and as islands, there's really no extra room to grow.
Spain, on the other hand, has a lot more open land and a far lower population density than the UK. On top of that, unlike the UK, where there's a fair bit of immigration from India, Africa, and the Middle East, there aren't as many people moving into Spain. Its population is stable.

They're trying to attract young first-time home buyers with games from the 80's. Smart move.
The difference between Euro and Pound is minimal nowadays. Their economy couldn't be doing as bad as UK's (where we are getting budgets slashed everywhere). Living is cheaper over there, and their average salary is about the same as UK's.
Hola me gustas mucho de vivir en Super Mario Bros avenue. Call me!
