what a coincidence. I just watched the anime in english dub and really liked it. The story/plot wasn't as transparent as I thought it would be and I actually really enjoyed watching it.
I recommend the the show to anyone who is even remotely interested in it because chances are that you will really enjoy it if you are ever so slightly interested in the show. Like I was.

2007 was honestly the last year that had any memorable anime for me. including this. they really should finish it with another reason. it had action, good characters, decent plot, and hilarious comedy.

I thought Bamboo Blade was a great anime, also I thought they ended the anime on a good note. If there would be a 2nd season, it would probably be only 13 episodes.

The anime diverged significantly from the anime near the end so there almost certainly won't be a second season.
This is pretty sad news though. Based on what where I am in the manga it seems like an abrupt unplanned place to end.

At least there stopping at 17 volumes instead of dragging it out or making some absurdly large amount of Manga such as Prince of Tennis wich I think topped out at 40 volumes. I also just ordered volumes 3-5 recently and so far it's pretty enjoyable.

Isn't there still a spinoff manga to Bamboo Blade running as well?
Yeah just googled it up since I remember seeing it at the bookstore:
Bamboo Blade B (novel name, I know...)

True, very very true. I mean sure there have been a couple good series since then, but nothing really outstanding.
Aereus: There is, but it's a completely different cast.
I wonder how Bamboo Blade will end though? The cast graduating and moving on? Probably a big competition more likely.
