does anyone know if DeepDiscountDVD (www.deepdiscountdvd.com) sells legitimate stuff? I found a great price for the Nadesico; essential anime disc, but I won't buy it if it isn't legit.

and on anther note, is there a list anywhere on ANN that lists legit/non-legit sellers on the internet? I think it would be a good idea if there isn't one already.
and if there is one already, sorry for this post

DDD is legit, but my experience with them was abysmal. I much prefer SuperDuperClub, also legit, also cheap, and much better.

I tried DDD because everyone in AN's forum recommended it (They used to let you discuss other stores... Not now, though). After several failed purchases (and reading some other negative reviews), I decided I had it with them.

DDD is 100% legit. ANN doesn't have a list of legit sellers other than those who choose to buy advertising space. There is a sticky thread at the top that is on how to spot bootlegs. You might want to check that out.

If you do buy from DDD, don't go for the free shipping, that takes forever. It took 10 days for them to get my DVD's to me using free shipping, so from now on I do the 2-3 day shipping ($6.95) and it gets to me within a max of 4 days. As far as I know, the shipping cost doesn't change no matter how much you spend.

Well, what do you exepect for free shipping? As for me, I don't mind waiting a few extra days to get a DVD that I don't need right away. After all, I have the rest of my life to own it. Smile

Their free shipping really depends on where you're at. I live in IL, about 3 hours south of DDD, and always go for the free shipping and it more often than not gets here the day after it was shipped. I still have to pay tax though, but the tax is still less than if I went out to a local store and bought there and with the discs being much cheaper anyway, it's a great deal.

Yeah, I definitely don't mind waiting 10 days for DVDs that I got with free shipping. As long as they don't have a reputation for losing orders or shipping damaged goods, or other examples of poor quality (since you, as a buyer, expect the seller to ship you the goods in excellent condition) on the retailer's part, then I won't have a problem doing business with DDD.

I always go with the free shipping... every penny saved counts. Wink

I've only used DDD once, but things worked out fine that time. I would have liked if they packed it differently, but it arrived undamaged, so I guess my personal preference in shipping materials is different than what they feel is necessary. Confused

I've ordered about 20 dvd's from them over the last few months. No problems.

They typically ship pre-orders out the Thursday before the official release date - which puts it in my mailbox on either Monday or the day of release. I live in Illinois - about 3 hours south of them (ironically like Tiresias) - so I pay tax, but free shipping is nearly immediate.

I agree, I order from them quite often and have never had one problem, they're prices are usually the best by far and the free shipping always helps

Thank you. I was getting antsy and wondering when my Fullmetal Alchemist Starter Set had been shipped, and watching retailer after retailer get their copies in early was a bit grating. *is a little relieved* Smile

For what it's worth... I had a preorder take a bit longer recently. It arrived 9 days after they sent the email that they shipped it - normally it's 4 days (ship Thursday, arrives Monday). The 9 day shipment was exactly when they said it would arrive, however.

This week I got Eva vol 5 on Monday - which is back to the usual pattern of arriving in 4 days, and the day before the actual Tuesday release.

well, I orderd a DVD from them sometime in January, and in the e-mail they sent me, the estimated arrival date was 1/30/05 to 2/04/05, and now its the 8th, so I'm getting kinda concerned...
