Is it just me, or is there no review for the Sgt. Frog Season 2 part 1?

It's just stray code from last week's reviews.

To Love Ru's from the 2000s, not the 90s. And if you liked the guy in Cobra, you might wanna check out Nerima Daikon Brothers. [The singles, though.]

Wow, really? I like the show, but then, I generally like most romcom/moe/fanservice shows. So maybe, just maybe, people who like the aforementioned genres are the ones who voluntarily watch To Love Ru....

I like that You`re Under Arrest one, cops in anime are so underused.

THANK YOU! It's nice to hear some one on here NOT ignoring the existence of something as great as Cobra! I only wish it was longer...

The Cobra OAVs were pretty good for Cobra fans like myself. The US did get the movie ages ago, which condensed the first arc of the series in a very Escaflowne movie type way (changing key plot elements and characters). The original Cobra being on board making it all the better. Unfortunately, the new TV series replaced him with the guy that voiced young Cobra in Time Drive. It just doesn't sound right, and is the main reason I've only watched an episode of it.
Red Leader, Cobra's a pretty long series. Maybe not Bleach or Naruto long, but well over 50 episodes now. How long do you need?
I'll add that I also enjoyed ToLovRu. Though I never did finish it, but it had it's moments.

Quote: | Is it weird that I would rather watch the original You're Under Arrest than Full Throttle just because the cels were hand painted? After 2000, all anime was digitally colored, but I know the original was hand painted on cels, because I still see the cels for sale at conventions. At least if I was watching a cel painted show, I would know the cel painters put some blood, sweat, and tears into their work. They were living out their youth by the smell of paint at the end of an era. Almost no blood, sweat, or tears is expended by any of the characters in YUA (a statistically insignificant amount, anyway). Fortunately, not all anime fans are quite as bloodthirsty as I am. |
I don't disagree at all. I just started getting into the Oh My Goddess manga series, and because of that I thought of You're Under Arrest (same creator), and I scrounged around everywhere online for all the Animeigo box sets. It turned out to be a wonderful series that was well worth my money in more ways than one, and the animation style from back then really helped draw me in, a very nice change in pace from nowadays. I watch and love tons of recent anime series, but sometimes I find myself taking a break and visiting or revisiting the classics (other favorites include Tenchi Muyo and Battle Athletes)
However, it's too bad you're not enjoying this latest series so much. I just started watching the 'Fast and Furious' series from Sentai, and while it may be more of the same, that was just fine for me. You're Under Arrest has turned out to be my favorite comfort-food series, and I already know it'll be the same with 'Full Throttle.'

I'm glad you like Cobra. More people need to watch it. It is a fun little series that is utterly ridiculous. I kind of enjoy the fact even if all the women were hyper sexualized they still were adult women. Though though the whole series I keep thinking they must all have cold butts though.
Oddly enough in one of the OVA series for Cobra (that are also on Crunchyroll) they explain the underwater cigar as some sort of oxi-cigar that lets Cobra breath under water. (Wow, I can't believe I just wrote that down...). Both of these OVA's are enjoyable but the Time Drive one is the one really worth seeing, as it is both cracktastic and awesome.

I really liked the first season of Your Under Arrest. Actually original during the late 80's, early 90's.
I am not saying the series was perfect, but still beats some of the modern shows. Such as To Love Ru, a generic harem with typical characters and a typical male character.
Too bad the second season of Your Under Arrest and the third season are subtitle only. I would have really enjoyed seeing what happens later in the series.
