I'm assuming its the usual situation where the production team has gotten behind schedule and needs an extra week breather. Or, perhaps they just enjoy irritating fans.

Definitely not considering the manga has 8 volumes already. It's not like K-ON! where they had little material to begin with. I'm rather disappointed with Shinbou and SHAFT right now regarding this. Hopefully this counts as a .5 episode like Bakemonogatari had.

It's SHAFT. You'd think that with all the success they've had over the years, they'd expand and spend more money (which eases the stress on the employees, at the very least). However, the company seems intent on maintaining the status quo, no matter how deep their pockets are.
