And Daisuke Ono wins for his role as Sebastian! Excellent, well done.

I'm a little annoyed seeing Miyuki Sawashiro as Best Lead Actress. I felt that there were a number of better seiyuus for this position like Mamiko Noto.

The Overseas Fan Award went to Saiga Mitsuki? I looked at her resumé and can't for the life of me figure out what shows/characters of hers made such a big impression outside Japan. Perhaps others here can enlighten me?
I'm also disappointed that Hoshii Nanase didn't win a newcomer award for her remarkable work as Erin. Of course, starring in a show that's supposedly for children and airing on NHK Educational probably isn't going to attract the same amount of attention as performances in shows earning large revenues from the otaku audience. Still for someone with no apparent background in voice acting, her transition from pop idol to a deeply nuanced seiyuu performance was quite striking. |

Watched the Seiyuu Awards ceremony via live streaming on Chou! A&G. Thank you, Bunka Housou for having VIDEO! *__* I thought it was going to just be audio. OnoD looked good in his suit. ^^
Anyway...
I'm a seiyuu fan so I definitely know who Saiga is and I adore her, but I have to admit I was very surprised to see her win. I don't want to take anything away from her, but she's definitely not a name I would think so many people know for her to win this award, and I'm kind of questioning if this was rigged. There was Gurren Lagann but Rossiu wasn't THAT popular... Definitely not as popular as Kamina. I voted for OnoD and Sawashiro so I'm quite happy there. Very satisfied with Namikawa and Miki for Best Supporting Actor too, as well as Mano for Best Male Newbie and I'm content with Onosaka as Best Personality. |

Saiga hasn't really done much in the last 2-3 years though except as Revive in Gundam 00 Second Season so that's interesting yet odd to see her win an award. She mostly took on minor roles in Shugo Chara and a couple lesser known series. Unless I'm missing something big that happened regarding her in the last year, I felt that this is a really odd choice. Really glad to see Yui Horie and Nana Mizuki (again) win awards. Nana Mizuki absolutely deserved that award this year. lol at the K-ON! Sakuragaoka High School crew winning Best Singing Award. Not really all that of a surprise. |

Yeah, I LOL'd at K-On! winning....not to detract from their award though. I listen to their songs every day, lol :p also, Saiga: Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) as Maria Ross I think being on the #1 anime in America (probably) is enough. |

I can understand how Saiga Mitsuki got the oversea award if anyone has played Star Ocean 4: International. The same applies to Sawashiro Miyuki...who was outstanding as Lymle in that game.

Yay! Sawashiro, Saiga and Namikawa got awards! I loved his Mikage voice! And I just finished the 07-Ghost anime this morning!

If anyone else is scratching their head over Aki Toyosaki not being linked at the bottom for "Best New Actress", it is because she's already linked under "Best Singing".

Hmm. It seems Kuroshitsuji is a wicked show, gotta watch that. Glad Daisuke Ono got the award (did Tomokazu Sugita get anything at all anywhere? he should be getting Lifetime Achievements by now).
