Well I'm guessing the us airing in 2011 would be the DUB, but I still hope they stream new episodes with subs right from Japan like Brotherhood and Final Act. Chances seem good being that Marvel been puting stuff on Hulu like there Motion Comics like Spiader-woman and Astonishing X-men.

I don't know I'd have a hard time with subs (okay granted Wolverine I could give a pass on , but Tony Stark? No.)
Patiently awaits 2011....

Me too, I don't mind watching a subs as new episode are aired. That only like one or two shows for. But to watch a whole series subbed. I have a hard time getting through it.

The movie was great, and I expect the same of the anime. Subbed or not, this definitely is good news.

Lol, kids today, can't even read a few subs. At the end of the day, I guess its down to how much you'd want to see em. With this season mix of awful anime, these shows would be welcome in the spring and summer of 2010.
Personally, it will be interesting to see how this one does on subs, because its Marvel we are talking about here, a big U.S company, who gets very ants in pantsu about their ip. Will they chase anime fans who sample subs? Tricky to answer, but I'm sure that they would have considered and weighed up the anime sub angle beforehand, surely.
Its only anime fans that will sample subs anyway, not the real comic book crowd, as they'll wait for dvds. I hope they do well for them, but I'd still prefer Marvel push stuff like Criminal instead.
I know I like the look of Ironman, so I'll be checking it out.

Both series will work better in English in my opinion, they're not Japanese-oriented works. They came from western media and focus on western characters. But anyhow....Why is it a big deal HOW we watch out anime? It's still the same show regardless of language (depending on the company but we're talking faithful ones like FUNimation and Geonen). Some of us like subs but others would rather not read a tv show, that's what books and comics are specifically for.
Example, how is Fullmetal Alchemist in English a different show than the Japanese version? It still has the same characters, the same story, translated almost perfectly, why do dub-haters feel the need to bitch over dubs? It's not like they want anime to be dubbed in the 1st place so why should the dub-fans have to suffer? It's quite a stupid thing to fight about if you ask me. Gundam Seed, same story, same characters, no cuts.
Detective Conan, it came to America long before anime started being dubbed faithfully so the result is that they had to keep the Americanized changes intact as that was what was familiar with people in the US.

I wonder if Disney will be releasing both titles in the US. They did buy Marvel Comics. Hopes for BD.

That's not necessarily the issue here. Iron Man and Wolverine are American characters. A lot of us want to hear them speaking their native language. It just fits better that way.
As for the other two, an X-Men anime could be intriguing. There's a lot of good stuff you could do with the concept. I never really got into Blade, though. I'd rather see an anime Fantastic Four, personally. The original FF was born of a time when the US was still running on the idea that new technology would save us all. Well, nowadays that's Japan's bag, so it would be really cool to see their take on the concept.

Focus on western characters? Have you even seen the trailer for the Wolverine anime?
The reason most people start "bitching" about dubs in the first place is that they're not translated "almost perfectly" eg. 4kids One Piece and do I even need to mention "Believe it!"?
And I have a hard time understanding why dub-fans are "suffering" from other people not liking it. They're just stating their opinions, if you don't like it, then just turn the other way (or in this case, hit backspace LOL).

I'm still gonna watch the Wolverine anime to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a shot at the very least.
Lets hope I'm not disappointed like I was with 1/7 of the Batman anime
(was hoping for a feature length kind of plot for Batman)

Two children's shows dubbed for children don't make particularly compelling examples.

I also don't like the fact you used anime that's dub was ment to be aired directly to TV. There Anime tend to have better Dubs that are directly to DVD or Streamed in the internet were cable networks have not say on the content.
That why 4kids is so bad, They have their own television blocks on TV they see themselves as a TV Network first, anime distributor second.

Detective Conan was released as Case Closed here in what? 2004, 2005? That's like the same time that Fullmetal Alchemist dub started didn't it? The reason why the name changes happened was because the Japanese production studio, TMS, wanted the show to reach the widest audience, and felt that changing the names to more western ones would do just that.
@Reifu- They don't view themselves as an anime distributor, the view themselves as a worldwide Children's entertainment company focused on creating strong brands.

You're referencing a years dead dub that was partially to blame because of Toei from a company who is notorious for dubious quality. Good job! As for Naruto, "Believe It!" is a stand-in for what he says in Japanese "Dattebayo", which literally means something along the lines of "I want attention, give me it!", imagine a setence like this: "I'm gonna be the next Hokage! I want attention, give me it!". That doesn't quite work well.

I have alot of faith in Madhouse s will be interesting to see how they handle such high profile western properties.
Iron Man shouldn't be too much of a stretch since it's essentially mecha, but I'm not convinced with how they're turning Wolverine into a samurai character.
As for the dub arguement, I can see where people are coming from. These are western characters, so it's going to be strange hearing them speak in Japanese. It's the same as when a US company takes an original Japanese series. It's just weird hearing them speak a different language than you're used to.
The Naruto thing is also a made-up childish slang dialect. It doesn't really mean anything, but the closest thing is probably "believe it", yet it doesn't quite work as well, which is why they've cut back on using it in the newer dubbed eps.
Can't agree with the comment of faithful dub from FUNi though. If you actually slap on the subs while watching the dubbed track, you'll notice they've started to take quite a liberty with the dub script over the last few years. Most likley because they're pumping out so many half season sets, so they just go with whatever works rather than worrying about syncing up a reading out of the original Japanese script.

I'd just like to say, before anyone gets ruffled feathers, That I enjoy both the dub and sub work of anime. If you feel I'm raining on your parade about subs, don't get butt hurt over it, its just my opinion. Agree to disagree, but like learning to read manga in japanese format, practice makes perfect, but each to their own.
Sure, I know they are western characters, and yes I'd like to hear them in english too, but for me, what really matters more is whether these series will be worth my time and money. Once I've had a dose and confirmed their goodness, then I'll certainly buy the dvds, as i feel that's where its going to go straight to, anyway, like previous Marvel animation project, they are too strong for TV, and have no created their own OAV market of sorts.
I think more business may also go their way if it works out, god knows, the japanese anime industry needs the income. In this regard, I'm already liking what I've seen of the Halo anime (check it out, via Halo Waypoint on your Xbox 360 on saturdays)
Of course the best part is, getting those comic book readers onside, some who have raged at anime and manga's rise, and painted it as crap etc.
I agree about Wolverine looking odd, and I really hope that they change up those weird designs. He needs those manly muscles and beaten up face.
