I assume this safely implies it'll run on TV around October or earlier. CN doesn't usually run anything that has been available through other outlets first.

I just downloaded and watched it, mainly for a preview of the dub since I have no plans on buying the singles (I'm going to wait for the inevitable boxsets).
The dub, overall, was all right. Of course, several of the returning characters (Tsunade, Jiraiya, Iruka, etc.) have their same voices from the original dub, which I was already all right with, but I get the feeling I have to adjust to Konohamaru's changed voice (I know it's because he's older and going through puberty and such, but I'm just so used to that cute/annoying voice he had as a little kid). I'm glad that Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke's voices weren't change too much so it's an easy adjust.
A downside: I'm disappointed in the lack of the opening and ending credits being translated, but I'm going to hope it's just because it's on iTunes and they will be subtitled on the DVDs. I mean, they were translated on the first series, so I don't see any reason as to why they wouldn't be for Shippuden.
An upside: At least they have the omakes, unlike from what I've seen in the steams.
And vtnwesley, it had already been said before that the DVDs, and now iTunes it seems, are the only way Shippuden will be able to be seen dubbed. Anime on CN is basically dead, regrettably.

Really? I missed this. Disappointing, but not surprising. When did this get announced?
Also regarding iTunes, isn't all of Shippuden widescreen? Why was it 4:3? Hope the DVDs are widescreen at least.

Not all of Shippuden is in widescreen. The show went widescreen somewhere after the 2nd arc, so they're maintaining the OAR by showing it in fullscreen.

It's been confirmed that Shippuden will NOT run on TV at all. The only way to obtain the dubbed episodes is to download them via I-Tunes or buy the DVDs.

I'll be buying the dvds for the dub since I just got my father into the show, and he hates reading subtitles.
I cringe plenty while watching it, but it seems I'm getting used to a number of the voices. Steven Jay Bloom popping up occasionally almost makes it worth it to me on some days.
I swear I hear Kakashi's dub voice actor on a commercial a day while watching tv, and on Ninja Warrior... I'm starting to wonder if I've been watching the dub a bit too much.
EDIT: Oh, so he IS on ninja warrior... good. I'm not going insane, at least in this aspect.

Shippuden is mediocre at best, that's because of the quality of the source material. The animation is horrendous at times and music does not fit with the atmosphere of the series. I actually laughed at a track even, since it interpretates the feel of the situation wrong most of the time.It tries to be too dramatic and the filler is all sorts of awful.
Even the adaption of Kakashi Gaiden wasn't even that good. That's because Kakashi Gaiden was never that good in the first place.
Its nice for Viz to do this though.
