To the Professional/expert loliconners ...
So I'm new to anime/manga, and VERY new to Lolicon (I haven't seen or read any AND I only speak English, and a few other languages) ... I have a few questions: 1) To what does 'lolicon' refer? - the genre? the graphic novel? the person that reads or watches loli? 2) Is Lolicon ALWAYS sexual? - is there lolicon and loli porn? Would they be different genres? Or are there different intensities of how sexual lolicons are? 3) What are the most popular titles of loli graphic novels? 4) What are the most well-known (or classic) titles of loli novels? Thank you SO much I really really appreciate any answers ... T |

I don't generally like lolicon and you only have one post in your count so I'm just going to warn you, on this forum admitting that you like lolicon opens you up to all sorts of flaming. That being said, lolicon refers to anything that depicts young, underage girls in a sexualized manner. So you draw your own conclusions as to whether or not it's always sexual or not. Regarding the titles of popular loli works, I couldn't tell you as it's not my thing. Anyway I hope you don't get flamed too badly and welcome to the forums.

Ahh... but he hasn't admitted to liking lolicon. He's just asking questions about it.
As far as I know (which is not very far), lolicon is more of a visual medium than a written medium. If it DOES exist in written form, it would probably have to be pretty sexual in order to differentiate itself from other novels that simply depict younger girls. |

You have got to be kidding me. I have no idea what a "professional lolicon" is but I seriously doubt they're hanging out in ANN's novel area. And what is your nickname supposed to be? ebay moneys yes?
Are you also new to Google? i suggest you start there and ask questions on some lolicon site instead of coming here. |

I suggest sending a message to the user "Akemi L. Mokoto". If anyone can be an expert on a subject like this, that guy probably is. He's a "Self-proclaimed Lolitologist", after all.

He's new to the forums. The very first thing he probably got to see though was Akemi promoting lolicon in the Answerman thread. |

His nickname is "yes yes no maybe" spelled backwards.
Probably not a good idea to mention that person, while he would be an "authority" on the matter threads with his name thrown around in them tend to attract his attention and quickly degenerate into flame wars. |

Which is why I would say that we probably should request for a thread lock.

I wouldn't go that far. The OP was honestly asking for help is all, I'd wait until it starts to get ugly before just outright locking it. Or at the very least give the OP a chance to say that their satisfied with the info they've gotten. Though, and as unlikely a thought as it is, they may have created that account to spark a flame war, but as I said, that's none too likely.

You mean you want Akemi to find this thread? |

He hasn't been skulking around this forum as of late, at least not to my knowledge, I figured he had either been banned or realized there better places for him to campaign.

Haha thanks BleuVII ... yes I have not admitted to (is it something to admit to?) liking Lolicon.
I was interested in the graphic novel versus television show or pc game: that is: the visual versus audio-visual. @daxomni ... no I am not new to google. I have gmao. I'm doing research - you know what that is? It's comprehensive. Thorough. Wide-ranging. Stop judging wow. And I really am looking for titles. Like I mentioned previously - I have googled and googled ... the information available on Wikipedia is somewhat helpful and a good starting point, but otehr results are often in Japanese as well as many of the websites. I WANTED a forum platform so I could ask people that are interested in anime (and/or lolicon) or have some knowledge of the subject their thoughts and for their help. And I don't want to generate flame wars. I am genuinely interested in information. @Brazzlefrazz ... thanks for the tip I appreciate it. If anyone has any more information I'm keen to hear what you have to say! Thanks! |

Ah. Then you're posting in the wrong forum. Check out the MANGA forum for that. animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=14 This is the forum for actual novels that anime are based on. |

Google can translate Japanese websites quicker than most ANN members and Google doesn't mind discussing any topic you wish to research. The reason I'm suspicious is because your very first post asked about the single most divisive topic that exists in the world of manga/anime and you worded it like you were talking about the weather. It would have been far better to start off by introducing yourself and explaining why you have so much interest in a universally polarizing issue and what you intend to do with your "research." |

Mmm, yes, "comprehensive" internet forum research. Very professional of you. This is the wrong forum for this topic, anyway. Locked. |
