Ooh, I saw a picture of this anime on a box of candy at a Korean grocery store and was intrigued! I have always thought Greek mythology would make for some fun anime.. I suppose as long as it isn't made cheesy, it could work out. Anime Crash should change that "straight from the heart of Japan" on their trailers page, since they have Korean stuff. It makes my inferiority-complex-about-his-homeland Korean boyfriend complain. -_-;

Ok, so does AnimeCrash license stuff and release them in the US? AnimeCrash is a Korean company right?

Nope, Anime Crash is based in the USA, NYC I think. There stuff is licensed for North American disttibution. -t |

Correct; they're the anime label of Crash Media, which has been putting out Chinese and Japanese films on VHS and DVD for years - and vaguely related (not sure how) to the Anime Crash store on East 4th Street in NYC, back in like '95-'98 or so.

You are correct, Anime Crash was established in NYC (near the east village in Manhattan.) 10 years ago, orginally as an Anime "Mom n Pop" retailer. From resin model kits to OSTs,and even fansubbed VHS copies back then. I remember having discussions here n there with the owner (Scott) a nice guy who had a huge enthusism for Anime. I concur with Jadress' sentiment in regarding the site's "Straight from the heart of Japan" motto. It's misleading especially when their first release Geisters reeks of Korean affiliation. And the opening title card animation(the lady weilding a sword) has got to go! 
Hopefully AC will accquire better series that really is straight from Japan. Anyway, I wish Scott and Co. best of luck.

Never heard of them, but with a background in importing, it's understandable why they might reach out more to Korean titles than most distributors. |

Seriously. The title sequence on the DVD looks like someone took a glance at the "Manga Mania!" books and tried to translate it into a Flash anim. Holy crap. At least you can fast forward through it, but ... yikes. It's like every bad stereotype about anime was condensed into that one sequence. I think the only thing missing was a cute animal sidekick 
And yeah, the CGI work for Geisters was done in Korea ... eeps. It's cool that Crash is trying to bring exposure to Korean animation, but it kinda shows that they don't have much licensing money to throw around. |
