Quote: | The madness continues here at SDCC. I would like to point out that the con makes things exceedingly difficult on nerd journalists here — the press badge grants us no access whatsoever, and we have to wait in line forever to see and cover what you guys want to know. Now, I'm not looking for pity — certainly, of all the beats ANN is covering here at SDCC, I've got the easiest — but when you read ANN's other great panel coverage, you might want to say thanks |
Can't speak for this year (beyond the fact there seem to be a couple hundred yellow press badges running around), but last year my daughter's boyfriend who runs a review site skipped a couple events over the mass of barely press people swarming them. Basically he felt anyone with a blog was getting those passes.
I do know Preview night was hell. (Is it too hard to comprehend the nice wide aisles move better when the people on each side are moving in the same direction? I cannot say how many times my party was split by small parties going against the flow.
Thank god it's improved since.I assume it's because of all the panels drawing bodies away from the sales floor.

Er, only two of them are from Linebarrels. The purple one is from Super Robot Wars, the black one is from Virtual On.
Don't suppose you got pics of the other booths you aren't covering? Kinda want to see the Assemble Borg/Toy Tribe table at booth 415.

I love Shunya Yamashita's character designs. His Non Non figure was one of the few I bought just because I liked how it looked(I usually only buy figures from shows/manga that I like.) His Marvel Bishoujo line looks great too; although it's been about 20 years since I've read any Marvel comics, I think I might get the Rogue figure since I was a huge X-men fan in my early teens. I don't really like his bust series though, only because I like my figures to be complete. Looking forward to the Yamato & Diamond report.

Agreed. I don't really even like Star Wars that much, but those are so awesome!! If they took watch batteries and lit up, I might explode.

Me too! And even as someone who doesn't collect figurines at all (I have only one small one in 7+ years of my anime fan life), I want better pictures of those new FMA statues. They look gorgeous.

You wouldn't be the only one. My friend and I are geeking out over the chopsticks right now, and she wants to buy them for her parents. Plus sets for ourselves, of course.

Kingdom Hearts figures and lightsaber chopsticks are interesting, but those FMA figures are so nice looking! I'm glad that they made a Roy instead of Winry. I hope to see a detailed review of it soon.
