I have this CD (Type-B, Regular Edition because I was ordering with other things so the Limited Edition would make the price higher than I wanted).
It's fantastic and deserves to be high on the charts

After being ignored by American licensors for season one, I wonder if we'll see season two on Crunchyroll when it appears next year?

Considering the music situation, almost certainly not.
CR even said that AKB0048 was not even possible.

Odd that there's no mention of Nana Mizuki's "Bright Stream" single from the Nanoha A's movie sold an even far more impressive 75k copies.

Man, it seems like the only way of AKB0048 would ever get brought over here is if the AKB48 producers plan to bring over the group here and use the anime as a vehicle.

Well they did show up at Anime Expo...whether that was well received is another issue.
This single is amazing though. Fantastic songs. Type-B music video is crap though whereas Type-A is very well done.

I never know what to think of these AKB sales numbers. Since AKB48 is unashamedly an artificial group, both in roster and songs. And more importantly -- things like meet-n-greets, hand-shaking, autographs, etc. are used to "bribe" better sales of the music quite often.
(Most recently there was that story with pictures showing thousands of copies of the music just sitting in the garbage in various places, stripped of the extra coupons. Stores selling the singles for 50yen each, etc.)
