I've been meaning to pick this one up for a week. I'll probably get to it tomorrow.

I do love Olivier Armstrong and Hohenheim. Especially when the latter gets serious.

Fullmetal Alchemist could, if it wanted to, sit back and coast the rest of the way.

Seems to me like it has in the newer chapters out in Japan. A lot of dragging.

I agree. It's also a problem the Manga share with Brotherhood.. So many (or rather.. Too many) developments and side stories make most of the more secondary characters to be forgot and disappear in the background.

I need to pick this up soon. It's a shame we won't get the next volume until July. This will probably be the last volume to come out before Brotherhood finishes its run.

Yikes. That's a long wait, especially for somebody like me who loves FMA.

I picked up my copy of this today. I love all the little extra bits Arakawa puts in.

I've been meaning to re-read the English volumes. It's a great story but with so many twists it's hard to keep up with everything at a time.

I didn't find the 2nd half lagging. I always hate reviews that say "confusing" or "hard to follow". Probably because I really don't give a rat's rear about Ed & Al (because I rarely care all that much for the main character. My fav in a title tends to be someone in the support), my ears (eyes?) pricked up at the 2nd half as we found out what Roy & Envy were up to. I'm way more interested in what's going on with Greed & Lin than Al & Pride & they're below Roy & Envy on my interest scale. I also am more interested in Hoenheim's plans.

I honestly don't get the confusing claim. I mean yeah it has multiple pov's in a chapter but any person not young enough to follow shouldn't be reading FMA.

It's not like the first anime where you have Red Water which seems to break equivalent exchange, then you have Dante's plan that makes no sense, and the fact that they claim that homunculi don't have a soul than proceed to protray them as people with amnesia who just happen to be used by Dante.

Do we have to get into this here? Rolling Eyes

(I'll admit, though, the red water was a confusing element.)
