I really wanted to see an Ikumatsu figure, but... I wonder, was she on the poll...?
Edit: Yes, yes she was. DAMMIT, JAPAN! JUST PUT OUT ONE FIGURE OF HER! -^- Well, someday, I hope...

Well the only one I would have been interested in buying was Gintoki v2 because I never got the first one (and didn't care much for the pose anyway) but I guess the votes for Gintoki were split 3 ways I'm happy Kagura won though because she deserves it.

I love the fact that 2 badass chicks beat out most of the pretty boys/yaoi bait in a poll to determine which figurines should be made for women.
Basically, not all ladies read shonen manga for the yaoi possibilities, and they appreciate strong female characters. Take that, stereotypes!

Would a female character actually be made for the GEM line? Well I guess why not?
Although why did they just do this for Gintama? I want to see Megahouse ask this question in general, like GSC did recently.

Kagura winning is no surprise.
(Does anyone actually buy figures of males?)

How fast the Tiger & Bunny figure sell out, should tell you very much yes.
I like both female and male figures that I love as I have favorite characters in both categories, but since a lot of female figures are in various degrees of undress I usually prefer male figures.

I should also note that Lelouch and Suzaku figures back in 2007 and 2008 sold like hot cakes.

Actually every Gintama figure (except for the cheap trading and chibi ones and even the vast majority of those) up till now has been a male figure so I'm guessing yes?

I'd buy Hijikata... er... I mean, I'd buy a figure of Hijikata.

Why should that be a factor? If she looks good, she looks good.
